Privacy Policy

ChatCapsule is designed to turn WhatsApp chat exports into PDF documents while keeping the contents of those chats on your device.

Data you choose to process

You may import WhatsApp .txt or .zip export files into ChatCapsule. The app parses those files locally on your iPhone and generates PDF documents locally. ChatCapsule does not upload your message text, participant names, imported files, media content, or generated PDFs to our servers.

Data we do not collect

Local app data

ChatCapsule may store archive metadata on your device, such as archive title, creation date, file size, page count, export style, and local file location. This is used to show your local archive history. You can remove local app data by deleting the app from your device.

Analytics and product metadata

ChatCapsule may collect limited product analytics and metadata, such as onboarding completed, import started, import completed, export started, export completed, paywall viewed, purchase completed, app version, platform, device class, language, and region. These events are designed not to include chat content, participant names, message text, file names, file paths, or media content.

Purchases

If you purchase ChatCapsule Pro, payment is processed by Apple through the App Store. ChatCapsule does not receive or store your payment card details. Purchase entitlement status may be managed through Apple and RevenueCat so the app can unlock Pro features.

Third-party services

ChatCapsule may use privacy-conscious analytics and operational services such as PostHog, Supabase, RevenueCat, and Apple App Store services. These services are used for app analytics, product metadata, entitlement management, and purchases. They are not used to process or store the content of your imported chats.

Your choices

You control which files you import and what you do with generated PDFs. You can choose not to purchase Pro, not to share exported files, and to delete ChatCapsule from your device to remove local app data.

Children

ChatCapsule is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us so we can review the issue.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy as the app changes. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new last updated date.
